DJI RONIN 4D

The DJI Ronin 4D fuses a full-frame cinema camera, 4-axis active stabilization, LiDAR autofocus, and long-range wireless transmission into one highly integrated, modular system — delivering dolly-smooth handheld footage without a separate gimbal operator.

Description

The DJI Ronin 4D is an all-in-one cinema camera and gimbal system built around DJI’s CineCore 3.0 imaging platform. It pairs with the interchangeable Zenmuse X9 gimbal camera, available in 8K (up to 8K/75fps) or 6K (up to 6K/60fps, 4K/120fps) configurations, both offering a full-frame sensor with over 14 stops of dynamic range, dual native ISO, and built-in adjustable ND filters from ND2 to ND512. Unlike traditional 3-axis gimbals, the Ronin 4D adds an active Z-axis to eliminate vertical camera shake, effectively replicating dolly-like movement while handheld. Focus is handled by a precise LiDAR range-finding system that enables reliable autofocus — even with manual lenses — plus a LiDAR waveform display for more intuitive manual pulls. The system records internally in Apple ProRes RAW and ProRes 422 HQ, supports ACES workflows, and transmits video wirelessly up to 20,000 feet via DJI’s O3 Pro transmission system. With its detachable hand grips, 5.5″ high-bright touchscreen, built-in stereo microphone, and interchangeable lens mount options (DL, Leica M, and others via adapter), the Ronin 4D is designed to move fast on set as a primary or B-camera without sacrificing cinema-grade image quality.
