The Laowa 15-24mm T8 Probe Zoom is a groundbreaking addition to Laowa’s Probe lens lineup, pairing the widest field of view in a probe lens (up to 110.5° at 15mm, 84.1° at 24mm) with the largest zoom range on the market — a 1.6x ratio that opens up dramatic dolly-zoom and crash-zoom effects unavailable on any other probe. Full-frame coverage and a slender front barrel (as small as 32mm) let it reach into tight, hard-to-access spaces, while a 21.5″ waterproof tubular design makes it equally at home in tabletop, underwater, or VFX setups. Minimum working distance is just 0.2″ with up to 1.6x magnification, revealing extreme close-up detail without distortion, and the lens holds focus in a parfocal design through the zoom range. The set is built around four interchangeable viewing modules — 0° Direct View, 35°, 90°, and Periscope — giving cinematographers a full range of unconventional angles, from straight-in macro shots to low-angle periscope moves, without switching lenses entirely. Cine-standard 0.8 MOD gears on the focus, zoom, and iris rings make it fully compatible with standard follow-focus and lens control systems, and it ships in ARRI PL mount with optional Canon EF/RF, Nikon Z, Leica L, and Sony E mounts available separately. A dedicated 0.7x focal reducer is also available, extending the Probe Zoom’s ultra-wide coverage to Super 35 sensors while brightening the effective aperture to T5.6.
