The Laowa FF 8-15mm T2.9 Fisheye Zoom Cine Lens is a versatile, full-frame fisheye built to give cinematographers two distinct looks in a single lens. At 8mm it delivers a true 180° circular fisheye ideal for immersive VR content, dome projection, and surreal narrative sequences, while zooming to 15mm transitions to a full-frame rectangular fisheye with a wide, curved perspective and edge-to-edge clarity with no cropping. A constant T2.9 aperture holds exposure steady throughout the zoom range and performs well in low light, from night exteriors to dimly lit interiors, while a minimum focusing distance of just 16cm (6.3″) lets filmmakers get in close for exaggerated, bug-eye POV shots. Housed in a rugged, weather-resistant metal cine body with Laowa’s Frog Eye coating to repel water and dust, the lens features 0.8 MOD geared focus, zoom, and iris rings for seamless follow-focus integration. At roughly 590g it’s one of the lightest full-frame cine zooms available, making it a natural fit for gimbals, drones, and handheld rigs on run-and-gun productions, music videos, and action sequences.
